Purvis Chapel AMEZ Church is on the Historical Registry. It was established in Beaufort N. C., in the year of our Lord 1820. It was the very first church in North Carolina's third oldest town.
The present pastor The Reverend Timothy R. Jackson was preceded by the Reverend George.
The Reverend N. L. Daniels (A Prince Hall Mason), who has retired, and is now serving in a limited way, as the associate pastor of
Purvis Chapel AMEZ Church.
