Public School System June 10, 1950, Washington High School. Attended Shaw University (1 year football scholarship), Raleigh, Obtained a (B.A.)-born again from First Baptist Church, Raleigh. A Ph . D from the Raleigh Housing Authority (Chavis Heights Living Experiences). Raleigh.

Baptized, Easter Sunday 1943, First Baptist Church, Raleigh. Briefly held the superintendent of adults, Assistant Superintendent of Intermediates, Finance committee, Board of Deacons (1963-now emeritus), Scoutmaster, seven years, troop #52, and Worship with several churches in the Carteret County area, Mt. Zion in Beaufort, St. Steven A.M.E Z. Church, among many in Carteret County.

Life Member, N.A.A.C.P, Goldern Heritage member N.A.A.C.P, Life member National Association Retired Federal Employees, Life subscriber Royal Arch Masons publication, Original contributor Martin Luther King Garden, Raleigh, Gold card member Masonic Headquarters Plan. 25 year member, National Association Federal and Postal Employees, Member of The National Association Postmasters of United States.

Married to lovely Ora Lassiter Jones, blessed with two daughters - Ellis Deborah Jones Hodges, Florine Jones McAllister, and a son William Benjamin Jones. Hobbies: First Lt. Emergency Services Civil Air Patrol, License Pilot 20 plus years ,past member Air Plane Owners and Pilot Association, Dabble in : Photography, and Videotaping.
