BEAUFORT CIVIL AIR PATROL-132-USA

Beaufort, North Carolina, USA

(WOODY) SULLOWAY IS OUR NORTH CAROLINA WING BOSS

Major Sulloway

Col. A. W. Sulloway is the North Carolina wing Commander leader for the next four years. He expects, and demands strick attention to appointed duties from every airman. He is kind and know how to act to get the very best effort from his supporting cast. He believes that the way to go is to start from the bottom up, not from the top down. He is not looking for glory, but looking for everyone under his command to match his efforts. Claudia, his lovely wife, is also a dedicated member of the Civil Air Patrol, and is just as dedicated and demanding of the vol. organization members. Col. Sulloway recieved his pilot's certificate in 1977. He is the owner of Hook Marine, located in the beautiful town of Atlantic Beach, N. C., one of Carteret County's foremost fun places on the Crystal Coast. The Sulloways reside in Morehead City, N. C.

Join me in prayer with and for his administration for the next four years.

GO WOODY GO!

THE COMMITTED VOLUNTEER What does it mean when you join CAP? What kind of obligations do you have to the organization? For instance, can you choose to follow some rules and ignore others? Must you always put CAP first in your life? What does carrying that ID card mean? In an age when society relies more on volunteers to pick up the slack, these questions become more important. There really is no single answer. Every person's situation is different ....There are, however, some values which bind all volunteers together. Commitment is the biggest......Your career and family life do come before CAP, that goes without saying. As a member it is your responsibility to balance those needs..... So, a simple defination of a "committed" volunteer is: You volunteer to join, work for and leave CAP. When you join, you committ to uphold what CAP and the Air Force holds dear. When you take on responsibility you committ to carrying out that responsibility while following the rules. And, when you are no longer able to uphold that committment, you ensure that someone can do it in your place. It really is that simple.
